I prioritize physical and mental wellness because they are necessary to lead a good life. It takes a lot of self-work and emotional intelligence, but I know the discomfort left by their absence, so I will always be willing to do the upkeep.
I think it is intrinsic to make things, and I love appreciating that in all forms (sculptures, music, fashion, film, etc.). I could spend hours analyzing a song or praising photography. It doesn’t end there: creation also includes what you make of yourself, so my fascination continues with entrepreneurs, models, and athletes who subsequently inspire my work.
Not everyone has the pleasure of meeting us intimately, so those who do, and love/tolerate us anyway are almost a spectacle. My family and my community carry me, and it's my mission to embrace our culture and shoot it back out into the world tenfold.
My family has been in the restaurant business since I was born. In 2014 we launched our own restaurant, and by 2019 I learned how to leverage what I was learning through networking and school to completely transform our approach. I redesigned our strategy, locale, and menu.
Through new connections in college, I integrated myself into the Hispanic Business Student Association (HBSA) and eventually became an officer for the 400+ member organization. This experience led to my involvement with Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), which helped me further improve my business and career acumen.
During my fall semester, I became a tutor with Teach for America’s Ignite Program. I worked daily with veteran teachers to aid third graders in their reading journey. I simultaneously tutored student-athletes at my University in Microsoft Excel.
This winter, I was awarded a scholarship to take an international marketing course in Paris, France. It was an amazing opportunity to learn inside the classroom as well as absorb a new culture.
